Most brakes react to speed.
Ours reacts to the change of speed.
The Transversor detects the onset of dangerous motion — the acceleration itself — instead of waiting for speed to build. That single shift makes it act thousands of times faster than a centrifugal brake.
The power a centrifugal brake leaves on the table.
A centrifugal governor only trips at a high fixed threshold, so designers cap the turbine 10–20% below its true limit to avoid nuisance stops. That margin becomes permanent lost output. The Transversor reacts to tiny changes in speed instead of waiting for absolute overspeed — letting the turbine run safely closer to its real ceiling, especially in high wind.
Illustrative model for a ~3 MW onshore turbine. Replace with site-specific simulation data. Gains scale with wind-resource quality.
- Higher safe RPM. Reacts to a few tens of RPM of overrun, not a large absolute threshold — so the turbine can run nearer its real limit.
- More high-wind capture. The biggest gains sit in the region where centrifugal systems force the hardest derating.
- No power, no upkeep. Purely mechanical and autonomous — the recovered energy carries no parasitic cost.
Recovered energy is avoided emissions.
Apply the same recovery across a 100-turbine fleet and the modelled gain becomes climate impact you can put a number on — every year, for the life of the fleet.
Illustrative model. Basis: +1.2 GWh/turbine/yr × 100 turbines = 120 GWh/yr. CO₂ avoided at a conservative grid factor of 0.40 t CO₂/MWh (EU average range). Car equivalent at 4.6 t CO₂/vehicle/yr (US EPA). Homes at ~3.5 MWh/yr per dwelling. Replace with your fleet size and local grid factor for an exact figure.
It treats the cause, not the consequence.
Conventional safety devices wait for speed to exceed a threshold — by then the dangerous motion is already underway. The Transversor is an autonomous mechanical detector that senses acceleration the instant it begins, so it can act before speed has anywhere to go.
Waits for speed to build
Reacts to a symptom after it has appeared. In a high-rise free-fall, that delay means the car can travel tens of metres before braking begins.
Reacts to the change of speed
Detects the acceleration itself and applies measures immediately — autonomously, with no added power draw and no performance penalty.
Three controls. One detector.
Shorten stop distance
Acting on the first sign of overspeed lets a system stop in a fraction of the distance — the difference between an incident and a near-miss.
Prevent overspeed
Rather than respond once speed is already excessive, the Transversor intervenes as it rises, protecting equipment from runaway damage.
Eliminate overrun
Simpler, more efficient tension control with no complex connected electronics — and lower total power consumption than legacy approaches.
Take the technology as far into your build as you want.
Licensing is the foundation. From there, choose how much of the development we carry — from sitting inside your team to delivering finished, manufactured assemblies.
Licensing
A royalty agreement gives you access to the patents and keeps competitors out. Exclusive or regional, with knowledge transfer included in every deal.
Development as a Service
We join your development organisation — Light, as embedded know-how, or Advanced, where we own the full design, build and test of the technology in your product.
OEM
We build the brake system for you. Gain the patented technology without investing in machines, tooling or new headcount — with minimal change to your existing product.
Prototyping & manufacturing
Need a prototype now? We have the tooling and expertise to bring a hardware idea to life quickly and affordably — built for start-ups other manufacturers turn away.
Two industries already run on a Transversor.
The technology isn't theoretical. It ships inside consumer products today — proof that the detector works far beyond the bench.

The same detector adapts to any system where safer, more sustainable rotational motion matters.
It started with a watchmaker and a stubborn problem.
One of our founders, a watchmaker, set out to solve an age-old challenge: the fishing reel backlash problem. Thousands of hours and countless prototypes later came something smart, autonomous and mechanically simple.
Brillianze was founded to answer one question — was the invention unique and patentable? Through sheer persistence it now holds patents in several countries, and has proven to work far beyond fishing reels.
